Lua Zile won't be, because Emacs isn't, and Zile is an Emacs subset;
the fact that it will be written in Lua is irrelevant.

However, Gary Vaughan's working on a Zile-derived editor (see the "zi"
branch) which is scriptable in Lua, and I'll be joining him once Lua
Zile is stable to work on it. So if you want Lua scriptability, and
you don't mind not being strictly Emacs-compatible, look at zi.

Having said that, since Lua is in any case a scripting language,
there's very little to stop you modifying Zile in Lua.

No. Personally, I think that's more work than it's worth; better is to
make Emacs easier to build small. In particular, I'm interested in
getting a single file build (just the binary).
