I have now

alias zile=zmacs

so the real fun begins. First up, the first line of my ~/.zmacs (copied verbatim from ~/.zile) is:

(setq inhibit-splash-screen t)                                                                                                                                                                             

and yet it does nothing, and when I ask zmacs what inhibit-splash-screen's value is, it's nil.

Secondly,

zmacs --hep

gives no error message and an exit code of 0. I am mentioning this here rather than in bug reports because I'm assuming that either something is wrong with my installation, or lots of bugs have been introduced and not fixed?

I think I might now suspend that alias!
