RE: [certi-dev] certi with HLA_USES_UDP

Thanks for the quick reply.

1. Yes I did recompile after the changes.
2. I had transport of both types, reliable as well as besteffort in my FOM,
Does enabling the flag, disable reliable transport?
3. Regarding subscribing to the mailing list, I think I might have set a
different default sending ID.
I am already subscribed to the list, and I received the message.
Thanks for replying to the last mail.
4. Regarding using UDP, I felt that there was quite a bit of lag when only a
few objects were present in my Federates.
5. I will try to browse through the code of certi a bit, and will file the
bug.

Best Regards,
Vaibhav Bansal

Did you recompile CERTI and the Federate after the change?

If yes this may be a regression because that option
wasn't used by us recently and we don't have [yet] a
regression test for HLA_USE_UDP usage.

You know that you normally don't need use this CERTI specific
compile option. When your federate want to exchange messages
using UDP you should specify BEST_EFFORT transport
in your FOM file.

Did you try that first?

Double check your test case with the given informations
and if trouble still remains you should open a bug in the tracker:
https://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/?group=certi

HOWEVER keep reading:

1) the CERTI Mailing List is for "member only" in order to avoid massive
SPAM
so your current mail was kept in moderation.
You should subscribe to the list in order to avoid that:
      http://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/certi-devel
Moreover people usually answer on the list only so that you may
miss answers if you are not a list member.

2) I advise you to subscribe a (free) Savannah account too if ever
you do report a bug on the tracker. This way if you report the bug
when logged in Savannah you'll get automatic follow-up of your report.

Now my turn, is there any reason you forcibly want to use UDP ?

Thank you for using CERTI.
