Definitely true; a lot of NIH going on there. I don't see the
profileration of Python frameworks being played out again in the the
Chicken/Scheme community
There is already Kahua, PLT's continuation-based framework, SISCweb, SUnet, a new one called Magic for Scheme48 in a pre-alphaish state, and at least one other guy on #scheme says he's implementing another framework for Scheme48. That gives us, what, a 5:0 ratio of frameworks to compelling Scheme-based web applications?
