That's the point of using C instead of assembly.  It means you don't have
to have several different codebases for all supported architectures.
For example, I don't think Felix spent much, if any, time worrying about
getting it to compile on PPC based Macintoshes, but it "just works" there.

If I'm wrong, please don't hesitate to correct me. :)
