I'd suggest fixing the eggs to make them work with trunk _before_ the
new release.

Lots of eggs currently fail with chicken trunk:

I guess most of the failures are due to the removal of deprecated
procedures/macros (see
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/chicken-users/2007-11/msg00124.html).
