Works fine here.  Are you sure you're running the latest version?
IIRC an older version did not understand s-expression comments, which
Chicken uses to protect the prompt from being interpreted when you copy
input lines.

Also, AFAIK quack, cluck and gambit.el are not active in the inferior
Scheme mode so that should not have any effect.
