Indeed, but in that case you don't usually rebuild everything, unless
you touch the core's core.  If build speed hasn't bugged those who
actually hack the core so far, I doubt it is an issue for anyone else.

I just want to reiterate that I'd like to see parallel builds working.
But the "working" part is hard.
