The old environments egg still works with 4.7.0 (and its stability
cousins). If you are on a newer Chicken version you can try the
(hopefully still) working "rewrite" branch. Install it like this:

$ svn co --username anonymous --password ''  
https://address@hidden/svn/chicken-eggs/release/4/enbranches/rewrite
$ cd rewrite
$ chicken-install


If you try it, let me know if it works (and what Chicken version exactly
you tried).
