I had the same problem trying to install twisted on a Mandrake box.
Could it be that the RPMs are missing those files ??

i just tried to setup the circle-0.35 an a suse linux8.1 with python2.2 but
the folder/file "config/Makefile" doesn't exist in /usr/lib/python2.2 . the
installation was searching for it, so it failed. where can i get help from?
