I understand that (and agree that it is a sensible strategy), but in
this case the Locale container sources are all generated and in cvs but
only the list is missing from cvs, so that just seemed odd.

Well please don't waste any time on it then. This should be a temporary
issue anyway (until we move to a property based solution -- hopefully
soon).

Thanks. I didn't know that. I have cygwin installed and I do use it to
run some of the scripts sometimes, but it doesn't really solve my
concern about these issues. Free Software/Open Source projects in
general have *way* too many dependencies on other stuff and this makes
the barrier to entry too high for many people. Especially on Windows
these things can be really painful for people.
