Hi Michael,

Unfortunately, it looks like I've screwed up the configure script. 
Works fine on ppc, but not on intel, selecting the wrong interpreter
variant (PREFETCH and DIRECT should not be defined).  Here it is
anyway.  I'll fix it on the Eurostar :)
