Swing apps: can't click on text components

This is something i've experienced with some Swing apps i tried to
run... i would like to know if it's a known bug:

In the programs i tried, most of the time i can't click/select text
components. So i have to use the keyboard to switch between them, and
be able to type something in the components... have you experienced
this?
