Mark,

I'm running Fedora Core 4, and Jikes compiled from the 1.22 release
source tarball from SourceForge. Jikes was compiled on FC4 with the
GCC 4.0.x toolchain included therein.

The problem occurs when I build the Kissme core classes against Classpath.

A few weeks ago I took a look at a jikes core dump file with gdb and
ascertained that the problem occurs while READING one of the bytecode
files from the previously compiled Classpath tree. It also occurred
when I had compiled Classpath with GCJ ... which lead me to think that
it was the assertion that was at fault.

I will get back to you with the Classpath file and (I hope) a patch
for that file.
