Hello Everyone.
Using Sun's JavaMail I can send an email which includes a 67KB PDF to a group
like
"Mark & Tommy":address@hidden, address@hidden;
With GNU's JavaMail, which was a pain to compile, asking for perseverance over
a
few days :
(i) The email only makes it to the first mailbox
(ii) The attachment is seen as a 1KB text file, and it is garbage in there
(iii) I get GSSException and some missing C:\WINNT\krb5.ini file
Regarding compilation, which I tried on Cygwin:
Both the latest CVS and release 1.0 of activation end up with
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
source/javax/activation/ActivationDataFlavor.java:117: error: Final methods
can'
t be overriden. Method
`java.awt.datatransfer.DataFlavor.isMimeTypeEqual(java.la
ng.String)' is final in class `java.awt.datatransfer.DataFlavor'.
public boolean isMimeTypeEqual(String mimeType)
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
So I moved on and tried to compile 'mail' with Sun's activation.jar :
Most often I run into
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
gcj -C -g -classpath
./source:./lib/activation.jar:/usr/local/share/java/inetlib
.jar:../inetlib/jsse/jsse.jar -d classes source/gnu/mail/handler/Multipart.java
source/gnu/mail/handler/Multipart.java: In class `gnu.mail.handler.Multipart':
source/gnu/mail/handler/Multipart.java: In constructor
`(java.lang.String,java.l
ang.String)':
javax/activation/ActivationDataFlavor.java:0: error: non-static method
'javax.ac
tivation.ActivationDataFlavor.isMimeTypeEqual(java.lang.String)' overrides
stati
c method
make: *** [classes/gnu/mail/handler/Multipart.class] Error 1
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Once or twice though, the problem above miraculously solved itself and I was
able to produce gnumail.jar and gnumail-providers.jar
