Hmm, what about just providing the standard A-Z alphabet,
and instead leave it up to the user if she needs a different
set (rolling over if needed)? Something like this:

  $ seq -s ' ' --alpha 3
  A B C

  $ printf "acegikmoqsuwy" | seq -s ' ' --alpha=- 2 4
  c e g

  $ printf "abc" | seq -s ' ' --alpha=- 5
  a b c a b
