I try to run DataExplorer on my MacBook pro with OS X 10.11.6, but until
now without success.
First I installed Java, and the Terminal prompts the following:
java version "1.6.0_65"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_65-b14-468-11M4833)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.65-b04-468, mixed mode)
Java therefore seems not to be the problem.
Then I downloaded the file DataExplorer-3.2.9_Mac_64.dmg and executed it.
After that, DataExplorer.app correctly occurred in the Applications folder.
However, when I click on DataExplorer.app, the "icon" appears in the
dock, but disappears after about 1 second, so I can´t keep the program
running.
To get some more information I took the advice from the
nongnu.org-website and entered "java -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8 -jar
./DataExplorer.jar" into the Terminal (after changing the directory to
Applications). This is the answer:
Daniels-MacBook-Pro:Applications daniel$ java -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8 -jar
./DataExplorer.jar
Unable to access jarfile ./DataExplorer.jar
Daniels-MacBook-Pro:Applications daniel$
Any idea what I´ve done wrong?
Thanks in advance,
Daniel
