I also have though about it (using mysql) but I have
encountered an unexpected problem (on a different project)
if you try to keep a sql connection established for more
than ~18h. I think I will take a look at XML instead.

Would be really nice have the possibility to use a
mysql server to store all the values.
tables:
config
variable value
users
usertype username password
bannedipranges
startip endip comment
etc....
Have tried to do something with this, but have not
succeded becase of lacking knowledge about mysql
Maybe someone else with better knowledge about mysql
could do this? Should not be to hard just to do a ifdef
on the dbfile-functions and then rewrite them so they
go to the mysql db instead.
Possibilities that you get from this:
- Accessing the userdb from a script without having to
write function in the hubsoft. Maybe have a function so
the users can create their own useraccounts?
- Accessing the configuration from the scripts without
having to use the dbset functions in the hubsoft.
- Accessing the banned ip's without having to write
functions in the hubsoft.
