There are 2 behaviours

One where it is updated by each project creation, one when it's never 
updated (It's a debconf question if I remember well)

Changelog tells it was integrated in 2.6-0+12
* [Roland] Applied Olafur's "Making DNS simpler" patch, with a few
   changes.

The first case is the original sourceforge behaviour, it allows to have 
different web/cvs for each project
The second case, for the all on one server install were you can use wildcard

; *** Project homepages and cvs access ***
*                       IN      A       10.xx.xx.xx
cvs.*                   IN      CNAME   cvs

This is available with bind9
I don't know for other bind versions (and would be interested if someone 
knows)
So if your ISP runs bind9 the solution suggested By Arnar Birgisson in a 
previous mail should work
