Earlier this year, there was a discussion about the understated
--status option. This option causes runtest to exit with an exit code
of 1 ("failure" to the shell) if an error is encountered in any of the
Tcl scripts. The thread starts here:
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/dejagnu/2016-01/msg00000.html
I would like to make --status the default so that runtest always exits
with an exit status of 2 if an error is encountered by Tcl. This
seems like sensible behaviour and enables users to respond differently
from their Makefiles, build systems, etc.
I plan to leave the option there for backward compatibility, but it
would not do anything.
Thoughts?
Cheers, Ben
