Edit mode does not move the cursor to the next note when a note has been
edited, because when entering from the keyboard you may need to set both
the note and the accidental. This does not apply when you are using the
midi keyboard - in this case you could correct a whole measure just by
playing it in on the midi keyboard. You could also apply, say, staccato
to a series of notes by repeatedly pressing the staccato shortcut.
Rather than link this specifically to whether MIDI input is active it
could be an extra flavor of Edit mode that you set (say in preferences),
if you do only pc-keyboard editing you may want the cursor not to move
after an edit, otherwise you may want to set it to move to the next
note.
