These scripts apply only to single note chords. For multi-note chords
you cannot include the < > it seems.
I wonder if we should revert to putting in the < > automatically in the
presence of LilyPond attached to a note. I suspect there may be LilyPond
syntax that would make us wish we hadn't. But if someone attaches a
fingering then adds a note then it is very awkward to cope.
Need to peer at the LilyPond docs I think.
