Hello list,
I regulary compose Drone-music. This is music which has one or more tones
sounding the whole time and seldomly changes.
Its used for music with bagpipes, hurdy-gurdy or other instruments of this kind.
1) Writing the Drone-Note/Letter
Normally I only compose for my own ensemble. They know the pieces and know
which drone to use, but I want to have a way to write the drone in the sheet.
If I compose on paper I write a Letter ("A") under the Clef (like the octava 8)
and if the drone changes I write a new clef. But thats only one way because
there is no standard.
Do you have any ideas how to get anything like this done with Denemo? Maybe the
clef is not the right sign but the key-signs would be a better place.
So you have the # and b on the lines and under the lines the Drone-Letter.
2) Scripting a Drone-sound / Scripting a "on play only" staff.
I normally create a whole staff just to hear a drone-sound (which is one
endless note). Manually I create a staff and write tied notes. On certain
points I end the tie and create a new drone-note because Playback/Midi does not
play from within a tie (which is normal and expected behaviour)
These are my "entry-points" for playback but to be true its just a workaround.
The real deal would to automatically let the tone sound if I hit "play" and
stop it with stop. It has to be generated.
Is there a way to do this with Denemo currently?
Nils
