Details:

Hi,
These script allows you to have a voice move from one staff to the next.  It
can be convenient when writing polyphony for keyboard, for instance.  The
staffs in question must be given what I called "aliases" so that lilypond
knows which ones you switch to.  The commands automatically check for
duplicate aliases which would cause problems with lilypond.  Let me know what
problems might arise with these scripts, but they should work.  (Could use a
bit further polish to reduce redundant choices once you've called one staff
Upper, it shouldn't be a choice for other staffs)
