[Denemo-devel] A salutary lesson

Yesterday I was transcribing an 18th c collection of Scots Tunes by
Barsanti. I noticed he had engraved some lines between the note heads in
places. I thought, that must mean a slide from one note to the other -
it'd be nice to have that in Denemo.
So I turned to the LilyPond documentation, and after racking my brains
the search term "glissando" came to my mind, and sure enough there it
was, syntax \glissando.

Then I made my mistake - instead of getting up the View->Command Center
and searching for Glissando I started looking for a suitable place to
create my new command.

As \glissando is attached to a note I thought I might put it somewhere
in Notes/Rests->Markings. Well, in the nick of time, I noticed a command
Notes/Rests->Markings->Text/Symbol->Glissando
which was what I was about to re-invent.

I tracked back in git to find where this command had come from, and
found that I had created it six years ago - for what occasion I can't
now recall.

I think this may be one of the biggest challenges for Denemo development
- how to make it possible for people to find out if something is there,
especially if they don't have a comprehensive knowledge of the English
music terminology. Perhaps a section in the manual giving advice might
help:
"First find out the English term for the musical sign you are trying to
insert. Then type this into the Command Center search box. If this
fails, try alternative terminology if any, and finally the mailing
list."

A reference to LilyPond's glossary of musical terminology would be
useful too, and making sure we include all of them in the tool tip of
the command (as we do with Anacrusis/Upbeat/Pickup).
