Richard I don't see any protection about this page. Why do you think you cannot edit it ?

It does say this about the binary packages (on the Downloads page)

It is not listed in the (build) dependencies on the page
http://denemo.org/hacking-sources/
which describes how to build Denemo. But that page should mention that
if you want to use Denemo for its primary purpose of typesetting music
then you need to install it. Unfortunately, that page seems to be
excluded from edits by me. (Eloi - can you fix this?).

That seems most likely. Nothing to do with Denemo could cause an
un-install of it, search for a file called lilypond.exe
