Follow-up Comment #3, bug #46407 (project denemo):

I'd forgotten there is an edit mechanism that allows you to control size, bold
and italic. But the default 1st and 2nd time use a special font, so to match
up all the markings for repeat bars you need to use the nth time bar for them
all.
Can you check:
create a (normal) 1st time bar at the end of the bar put a repeat-end.
Then in the next bar choose nth time bar and put 1 as the text
Now edit and make bold and or adjust the size ... the 1 cannot be made exactly
the same.
