Actually, I was just testing and this is not so bizarre as it sounds.
You can insert multiple key signature changes one after the other at the
same point in the music. There is no point in doing this, but if you
move the cursor with the arrow keys you can see on the status bar that
you have several key signature change objects in succession. The
B-natural at the beginning sounds like you had the Initial Key Signature
set to F-major, so then a key signature change to G-major will issue a
b-natural and an F-sharp (the successive ones will only re-issue the
F-sharps as there is no B-flat to cancel). The typesetting will only
take the last key signature change issued.

So it sounds like you have been using the Key Signature Change command
when you meant to use the Initial Key Signature command.
