A client in Ohio is seeking a Lead ASIC Engineer.

This client is a provider of advanced physical layer electronic components,
subsystems, and intellectual property. They are dedicated to delivering high
capacity solutions that offer
scalability and significant cost reductions in today's advanced optical,
wireless, and satellite networks.

Their products are currently being used in wide range of networks embodied
as
Application Specific Integrated Circuits, Field Programmable Gate Arrays,
and Programmable Digital Signal Processors.

This position is budgeted at $80K - $130K annually.

The lead engineer will direct a team of seven (7) to eight (8) engineers in
the development of a 3+ million-gate digital communications ASIC.
Development tasks include system specification, RTL design and verification,
coordination with back-end physical design contractor, and system test of
prototype units.

Additionally, the lead engineer will be responsible for directing the
development of a converter ASIC via a contractor and the direct procurement
of foundry and packaging services for both ASICs.

Requirements:

· BSEE, MSEE preferred.
· 8+ years experience in ASIC design with demonstrated capabilities in both
logic design and verification as well as in ASIC project planning. Should
have been involved in the complete development cycle (project start to
delivery of silicon) of several ASIC projects.
· Requires fluency in Verilog and/or VHDL for RTL design and simulation.
Should have considerable hands-on experience with standard design,
verification, synthesis and timing tools.
· Experience in direct procurement of foundry and packaging services is
desirable.
· Must have good communication skills and the ability and desire to work in
a team environment.
