[Discuss-gnuradio] Bit Recovery on Oversampled Signal

I believe there was some discussion recently on this, and I'd like to
hear more about what everyone thinks...

I need to recover bits from a binary data stream, and I'm wondering if
there is something better than the M&M loop to do so, as I have many
samples per symbol.

I didn't see any existing blocks that would do this, but maybe one of
you knows an algorithm or white paper I can read and implement.
