I took delivery on a server (well, the parts to build a server, which I
did) about a week ago. I've been
running tests on it with USRP2.
It's a Gigabyte GA880GM-UD2H motherboard, with 8G of 1333 DDR3 memory,
and a AMD Phenom II 1090T,
six-core CPU at 3.2GHz.
I'm running Fedora 12 x86_64, with the latest Gnu Radio GIT.
I was able to run usrp2_fft.py with decim=4 (25Msps!!) after increasing
the net.core.rmem_max and
net.core.wmem_max parameters to 500000 each.
With this configuration, usrp2_fft.py consumes about 25% of the
available CPU, or roughly 1.5 of the 6 CPUs
of the system.
