This is a bit confusing. The e-mail you are quoting is from 02/2009... over 4.5 years ago. We don't even use autoconf / automake anymore.

What is the problem you are having?

Hello There,

After ./bootstrap and ./ configure when I run make, I am having the
following error in my ubantu 11.10 OS.
Need help
