Then they should show as message port in the GRC UI and you need to
connect them in the GUI.

This works: (this add additional port in gray color)

    <type>message</type>
    <optional>1</optional>
  </source>

Whereas this doesn't work: (the block becomes disappeared in the GRC)
  <sink>
    <name>print</name>
    <type>message</type>
    <optional>1</optional>
  </sink>

Then how to define the message sink port?
