Shall be done. It's not BSD, it's OpenBSD and pre-ELF NetBSD that have
the problem. I will contribute patches once I am convinced that it
works. I am in the process or re-doing my OpenBSD machines with patched
2.8 and I need to be stable before I try to finish my GNUstep work.

If there are known problems with the makefiles package on bsd, could
someone please contribute a fix?
