It turned out that the root accounts '.bash_profile' is not being read for
some reason, therefore 'GNUstep.sh' is not called and GNUSTEP_SYSTEM_ROOT is
not set. It works for all other accounts, as those .bash_profile files are
parsed correctly. I still have to check how this could happen. Obviously
this is rather some peculiar problem with the distribution (it is a fresh
GNU/Linux installation) or some obscure error from my side that I'm not
aware of. Afterwards the returned error messages make sense, but it was the
first time that I used GNUstep, so I didn't even know exactly what was
supposed to happen.
