Hi,
latex is only needed if you want to generate the documentation, but you
can use the already generated HTML from CVS, without generating it
yourself if you don't have latex - in that case, simply modify the line
SUBPROJECTS = Java Source Tools Makefiles Documentation
in the top-level GNUmakefile to be
SUBPROJECTS = Java Source Tools Makefiles
that will not attempt to build the doc and fix your problem.
