This is probably rash but...

I've recently finished a (rather specialised) app in mac os x and was
wondering how easy it would be to port it to GNUStep.

Ok. You want details:

It is a document based application using two nib files. Everything is
in java. Oh - and I use a NSComboBox which (I think) is pretty new,
and an NSToolbar.

How easy would this be? I suspect the nibs are the worst bit, but I'd
also like an idea how JIGs and Apple's java-objc bridge compare.

Yes, I think nibs would be bad.
NSToolbar is a recent MacOS-X addition, and doesn't exist in GNUstep.
JIGS is fully functional and reliable, but probably won't behave exactly
the same. Changing the wrappings of the underlying ObjC classes for
compatibility with the MacOS-X implementation (if necessary) should be
pretty easy though.
