Hi,

I just get a new FreeBSD 4.8 and try to install the newest release of GNUstep (make/base 1.7.2 gui/back 0.8.8) and meet some problems.

The compilation is O.K. but in the end of gnustep-back,
 it complains:

 Linking to gpbs ...
/usr/lib/libc.so.4: WARNING! setkey(3) not present in the system!
/usr/lib/libc.so.4: warning: this program uses gets(), which is unsafe
/usr/lib/libc.so.4: warning: mktemp() possibly used unsafely; consider using mkstemp()
/usr/lib/libc.so.4: WARNING! des_setkey(3) not present in the system!
/usr/lib/libc.so.4: WARNING! encrypt(3) not present in the system!
/usr/lib/libc.so.4: warning: tmpnam() possibly used unsafely; consider using mkstemp() /usr/lib/libc.so.4: this program uses f_prealloc(), which is not recommended.
/usr/lib/libc.so.4: WARNING! des_cipher(3) not present in the system!

Later, I try to run Ink.app or CurrentConverter.app,
and they all complain "couldn't contact the notification server for local host"
even gdnc is running (verified via top and "gdomap -N").

Where do these problems come from ?

 Thanx

 Yen-Ju
