Yes, have you ever seen someone new to linux try to install Debian? The vast amount of software and the virtually infinite amount of choices confuses the heck out of them. Most simply turn of the machine and install RedHat or something, or even worse, just keep on using the MS windows that came with their computer in the first place.

SimplyGNUstep will be Debian based, but will hide all of the software installation choices at install time. The only option is to install the Gnustep developer stuff or not.
the vast majority of Debian packages will not be installed.

hmm, kinda side tracked here, sorry about that, this is not really a post appropriate for Discuss-GNUstep.
