If you check the configure for Amaya, you will find

 if test "$AMAYAOS" = "MACOSX" ; then
   # MACOSX
   WXCONFIGURE_OPTION="--with-opengl --disable-shared
--enable-unicode --with-libpng=builtin --with-libjpeg=builtin"
 fi

I does use the OpenGL framework however, but it's based on X11, not Cocoa.
