There are Ubuntu packages already:

Since Ubuntu is based on Debian, it might be a good idea to have  
equal packages in both distributions. See <https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ 
UbuntuForDebianDevelopers>

Please note the "Debian changelog" at the bottom of packages' pages  
wich contains addresses of people who did packaging before.
