I completely agree. My proposal isn't to change from 3 to 1 digit. It
changes from "always 3" to "at least 1 but no more than necessary."
1500 would be displayed as "1.5 V" and 1350 as "1.35 V". I.e. exactly
what you want, if I understand correctly.
