before coding up anything, have people taken a good look at the ideas
over at
xns.org. it seems to me that they have thought about a lot of these
issues
for a long period of time. specifically what ron seems to want is 
just the XNS protocol without any web agencies (that host web agents on
behalf
of users). instead each user acts as his own agency. they are also
supposed
to submit opensource code for a reference implementation of their
scheme,
but i can't see any date. the licence apparently will be an FSF
compatible one
with modifications.

i would love to know if anyone has taken the time to really compare the
goals
between the XNS effort and the dotgnu authentication project.
