As for "disasters" , DotGNU.XXX looks bad enough to be called that :-)

I have voted for dotgnu.xml (and dotgnu.io)

But I think we do agree that the .dlls will be named in small letters

dg-base    => dotgnu.base.dll 
dotgnu.xml => dotgnu.xml.dll
....
