As far as I know, the linux kernel is a customizable piece of software,
many distributions change what they think is necessary and release it,
now these changes mades don't make it less linux, so in my opinion the
fact you have to deblob the kernel (and the proprietary blobs in the
kernel aren't a major part of it, actually they're a small one) doesn't
make it different of linux.
