Good evening Dragorians

I would like to suggest a regular "Mumble/Utox " meeting for the first Saturday of the month @ 20.00 BST (that's 3 days time)

Mumble is an open source, low-latency, high quality voice chat software primarily intended for use while gaming.

https://wiki.mumble.info/wiki/Main_Page

We can firm up details on irc.

I would suggest a first meeting be on Saturday 6th May and we use Frusens mumble server as the first point of contact.

If latency is an issue we can switch servers.

frusens mumble server is

gungre.ch

default port 64738

Equipment required: Microphone & Headphones. Be sure to turn your speakers off or down once you have your headphones on to stop feedback from the speakers back into your mic. If you don't have a microphone go and borrow one, As a last result you can listen and type.

You really need in-ear buds or closed cup headphones. Usb mics tend to work well so I've added 2 that are known to work on Dragora OOTB.

Kelsoos recommends:

Microphone: https://www.muziker.co.uk/auna-usb-microphones because he has one of them and it records great. About £50 if you shop around.

If your skint like me on occasion, The Tonor USB Professional Condenser can be bought for £12 or less. n4dir uses one of these If you really hard pushed use a phone type in ear head phones set with built in mic. About £5

Headphones: https://www.muziker.co.uk/akg-k72 Because he has akg-k66 and they sound great. I've had them for many years and holding up well.

Please don't use inbuilt laptop mics as they pick up all-sorts of machine noise. Give your noisy dog a bone and nicely ask your heavy metal loving neighbors to go listen in the car whilst driving around a motorway. It will boost their karma points.

Thoughts, ideas etc welcome.
