You could scan the rsync backend source, for where it gets it's
password from... I looked at recent cvs version and to me it seems to get it from the url, see http://is.gd/1c4DK I'd suggest getting the recent stable 0.5.18 and in case it still does not work putting some debug printout in rsyncbackend.py to find out what's going on. ...ede -- It looks like he's using the absolute path URL for rsync, and I don't see any issues with that, unless he intends to use a module instead. A lot has changed in the last several versions. I would suggest going to http://duplicity.nongnu.org/ and downloading the 0.5.18 version and installing that. Don't go for the 0.6.0 version just yet. It has issues that we are chasing. ...Thanks, ...Ken address@hidden wrote:man page http://duplicity.nongnu.org/duplicity.1.html#sect6 states rsync://user[:address@hidden:port]::/module/some_dir as url format .. maybe your missing some colons regards ede --Hi! I'm using duplicity in a backup script with the rsync backend. I've specified both the username and password in the URL given to duplicity, but it still prompts me for a password. This is the command that I'm using: duplicity --full-if-older-than 2M --no-encryption /etc rsync://username:address@hidden//backup/etc What am I missing? I'm using duplicity 0.5.09, which is what came with my distribution (Ubuntu 9.04). / manydnah ------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Duplicity-talk mailing list address@hidden http://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/duplicity-talk------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Duplicity-talk mailing list address@hidden http://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/duplicity-talk |
