[Duplicity-talk] Exclude directories

Do I have to explude my local duplicity cache directory from the backup
or is duplicity smart enough to not backup its own backup management
data? My backup source is an LVM snapshot of / and the cache is in
/root/.cache/duplicity.

I'm wondering that my backup size is constantly increasing but I'm not
expecting this. I've found loads of old sigtar files in that cache
directory. If they were added to each full backup, I'd know where the
data volume came from.
