From what I understood, "verify" is actually doing and then discarding a restore

If you have set up the incremental backups every half hour policy you mentioned in your last post, you already have a whole bunch of incremental backup to go through, so it's not unexpected.

the verify time should even get longer and longer till next full backup ...
