[Dvdrtools-users] dvdrecord ignores speed= parameter

I have a Pioneer A04, and I'm having problems getting it to write at
less than 2x (exactly the opposite problem to most people :)

I have some 2x-rated discs, which I want to burn at 1x for (possibly)
better data integrity. But dvdrecord seemingly ignores the speed=
parameter, and writes at whatever speed the disc is rated for. 

Is there a way round this?
